Good afternoon everyone!
We remember when we first transitioned to natural hair. We literally had no clue where to start, which products were worth buying, or how to style our transitioning hair! In chapter 2 of our transitioning series, we discuss our favorite go-to products and styles while transitioning. Please like, comment, share, and subscribe to us if you are not already doing so! Thanks for your support!
Good afternoon everyone,
Camille and I started a transitioning series to help individuals that want to “go natural” or who are thinking about “going natural”. This video is informational and we thought it would be helpful to start with some basic terminology such as:
-What is Transitioning and Big-Chopping? Additionally, we discuss 4 Cons of Transitioning and 4 Pros of Natural Hair. We are sure there are tons more pros and cons, but these were the ones that stood out to us the most. Please like and share this video with your friends and family. Also shout out to Michelle Malone for giving us a helpful tip for transitioners regarding styling and how versatile natural hair can be! Thanks Michelle!
Good evening Curl Friends,
Camille (pictured on the left) and I are working on a Transitioning Guide for Natural Hair. We have several chapters and would like to include a Q/A chapter! If you have any frequently asked questions/answers that you are willing to contribute about transitioning to natural hair, please comment them below! We will also shout you out for contributing. Thank you all!
Good afternoon curl friends,
I woke up so excited today because I believe I finally found a product that adds mositure to my hair and KEEPS moisture in my hair! This product is supposed to add mositure to rough, dry hair and helps to repair split ends and strengthens the hair. Need I say more?!
I’m a natural that loves consistency as far as people telling me which products to use in my hair. I consider myself a natural on a budget so I get frustrated when I see awesome product reviews that lead me to purchase the product that end up being a total waste of money. I can assure you; however, that the As I Am double butter cream is the perfect product for hair that feels rough and dry and looks that way too! What are your thoughts?
I want to start off by saying I absolutely LOVE these 2 products. The curl enhancing smoothie gives me a fluffy and light hold and is an excellent product for creating twists, braids, and wash N’ Go styles. The smoothie leaves my curls soft and bouncy.
The twist defining cream is my GO-TO product for twists and braids. The hold is out of this world and leaves my hair shiny and frizz free. Typically I can get away with not having to retwist my hair at night each night and my styles last about a week before having to wash. The only down side to this product is the PRICE! It is also known for causing a brown and sticky buildup if you use too much of it.
What are your thoughts on these products?
You can get both of these products from your local beauty supply store or Walmart. Prices may vary depending on location.
As I Am Twist Defining Cream 8oz jar: $10.99 & 16oz jar: $21.99
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie $11.99

Good afternoon curlies,
I decided to bless your tresses with this product review of the As I Am Coco Shea Whip and the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Kids Curling Butter Cream. I would rate both of these products a 9/10. As I Am whip can be costly for “on-a-budget” people (full time grad student here 🙋🏾 so I know part of the struggle lol).
Although I’m very impressed with both, I was taken aback by how expensive the Coco Shea whip was and the smell of the Butter cream, but nonetheless wonderful products!
As I Am Shea Whip $13.99
Shea Moisture Buttercream $8.99

So, I COMPLETELY forgot that I bought this product! I got it right from Walmart for $11. It’s supposed to add shine, control frizz, moisturize, & condition the hair. It’s also for hair that tends to be dry/brittle.
I swim every Tuesday/Thursday at my job so my hair sometimes gets very dry from the chlorine. With that being said, I absolutely LOVE the Hair Mimosa and would give it a 10/10!
It’s light weight on my hair and smells great! Pick it up and try it. Let us know if you like it or not 🙂
